My Hat's Off to the Gamecocks!

Amy and I just got back from the Auburn game, and I wanted to compliment ALL of the South Carolina Gamecock fans for the way they treated us. Everyone was SO nice and accomodating, introducing themselves, welcoming us to their city, and sharing their tailgating goodies. It made our trip so much more incredible. Add some great weather, delicious food, fun friends, (an extra night in Atlanta for just us girls) and a win for the Tigers and it just doesn't get any better than that!

Columbia, Here We Come!

I'm so excited! Because Oat (my nickname for my sis) lives in Atlanta now, we can (and have been) spending all the time we can together. She and I will be road-tripping next week to Columbia, SC to watch the Auburn Tigers deliver another beating on the Gamecocks.
We will also be motoring, with about 20 other of our closest family members, to watch Auburn trample the Arkansas razorbacks in October. (If she doesn't get a job soon, I may have to QUIT MINE because I can see how it could seriously cut into our play time!)

Poster Party

Right now there are about 40 11th graders in my garage (instead of the driveway, because of rain) making posters, blowing up balloons and painting t-shirts for the high school pep rally tomorrow. They are laughing, talking, eating pizzas and brownies and (even though it makes me feel extremely OLD having an 11th grader), I can't think of anything I could be enjoying more.
It's such a nice feeling to watch kids playing in the rain, picking on each other and giggling. I guess I'll only be able to host poster parties one more year, so I'm enjoying every minute. I can still see the faint marks of paint and magic markers on the driveway from last year, and I find an occasional spec of glitter....I love it!
