Hospital School

As posted on her blog, my mother learned things like this while sitting with her husband and son during recent illnesses:

"There is a lot of sickness going on in a hospital."

While I was staying with my brother Wednesday, this is one of the things I learned:

"With a thoracic or lumbar spinal injury, the pedicle screw implementation is now determined to be more successful over the traditional hook and rod system during posterior instrumentation and fusion surgery."

I'm not saying that I am a better hospital student than she is.....
I'M JUST SAYING.

I didn't know about that pedicle screw thingy but I spent yesterday in that same hospital and I didn't hear that mentioned in the halls even once -- I did, however, see quite a bit of sickness - you know, puking and all. Guess different people see things from different perspectives!

A+ for Susan! Too bad you couldn't apply that same aptitude to your organic chemistry class...
